OneDirection.net was a hugely popular fan site visited by a million users a month at it's peak, which provided the latest news, gossip, concert information for fans to get their teeth into.
Love them or hate them, there’s no denying that One Direction were a pretty big deal at one point. They went from X Factor finalists into the biggest pop act on the planet, selling out stadiums and arenas year after year.
What started off as a bit of fun for us quickly turned into a real behemoth, with our team ending up running one of the biggest fan sites on the internet.
OneDirection.net was a hugely popular site visited by a million users a month at it’s peak, with news, forums and chatrooms enabling fans all over the world to interact with each other.
The site was built in WordPress initially as a news website, but quickly grew into a dynamic suite of applications, along with a separate suite of iOS and Android apps that we created.
Alongside the site, we grew a series of social media accounts across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, which totalled around 2 million followers combined at one point.
Through our work with Ticketmaster as one of the top affiliates, we later created a concert ticket comparison website called SuprTickets, containing over 10,000 artists along with 1000’s of event venues worldwide.
