Vacancy: Junior to Mid-Weight UI Designer (Feb 2022)

We’re looking for a talented website designer with a strong UI background to join our team.

You will have experience in designing visually appealing responsive websites and feel comfortable taking designs from concept to high-fidelity.

Junior to Mid-Weight UX Designer

You will be working closely alongside our Head of Design in helping to create modern, mobile responsive websites for a selection of different clients – large and small. The successful candidate will have a strong portfolio, an eagerness to learn, and a positive and hard-working attitude.

You should also have a great understanding of what makes a good user experience and be able to contribute ideas and solutions to tricky UX problems.

The ideal candidate will have:

An excellent working knowledge of the common design apps such as Adobe XD, Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign
Good design awareness and a solid understanding of typography and branding.
Comfortable producing and working with extensive design systems with reusable components and various element states.
Excellent communication skills and comfortable having calls and meetings with clients.
Strong attention to detail.
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
A keen approach towards self-learning and development in this role.
A strong online portfolio.

Responsibilities:

To use your design skills towards the creation of websites, marketing materials and other design products for Pixel Kicks’ large and varied client base.
Work collaboratively alongside the design and wider creative team to deliver high-quality creative to time, cost and quality standards.
Work with client and agency branding guidelines to provide concept designs in response to a client brief.
Work closely with our web developers during the build process of your website designs
Produce clear visuals to explain a design approach.
Design to a budget using best practice considerations, and accurately estimate time needed for work.
Work under pressure to tight deadlines.
Ability to work on several projects and design jobs simultaneously
Ability to both give and receive feedback and direction positively.
Client-facing and competent in meetings and/or client pitches.
Support with planning and running design/user journey workshops with clients.
To work as part of a creative team and self-manage time versus output effectively.
Keen to learn and develop new skills, and share knowledge with the rest of the team.
